Local law enforcement officers recently received life-saving equipment as a result of an effort from a couple of non-profit organizations.
The Allegheny Kiski Health Foundation, Friends of the Saxonburg Police, and Community One Public Safety Training Initiative coordinated the donation of an Automated External Defibrillator to a Saxonburg Police Department patrol vehicle.
Saxonburg Chief of Police Joseph Beachem stated “having an AED in the patrol vehicle can increase the survival rate of victims and help to save lives.”
The mission of AKHF is to provide health and wellness programs free of charge while COPS-1 provides personal safety and self-defense training programs to the community.
