The two incumbents for the Republican nomination for Butler County Commissioner will face a challenger.
Donegal Township resident Zach Scherer has announced he is seeking the Republican nomination for county commissioner.
Scherer says bringing transparency to the county’s public meeting is one of his top priorities. He also listed curbing drug addiction and election reform as key campaign issues.
He says that voting should be done on paper ballots and that all electronic scanners should be removed.
Scherer is a Republican Committeeman and has been actively involved in the local Butler Patriots group.
Current commissioners Leslie Osche and Kim Geyer announced their candidacy last week.
