Senator Bob Casey is making a push to ensure that seniors in rural areas have access to transportation.
As money from the federal infrastructure bill heads to states, Casey says that funding set aside for public transportation needs to also be invested in rural areas.
He’s asking for more research to be done in what accessibility barriers currently exist, and how better solutions can be found.
Casey notes that roughly one quarter of older adults live in rural areas.
