The state treasurer and a local state senator have presented legislation to reform tax disputes with the IRS.
Pennsylvania Treasurer Stacey Garrity and State Senator Scott Hutchinson have proposed a law to accept late filed applications when resolving tax disputes in certain circumstances.
Also, in the proposed legislation, they would like to create a new settlement process for tax payers as an alternative to court appeals.
The legislation is supported by the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry, the NFIB, the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and The Pennsylvania Society of Enrolled Agents.
