Republican State Senator Doug Mastriano is forming an exploratory committee for a potential run for governor.
The former Army colonel hails from Franklin County and has been in the state senate since 2019.
During that time, Mastriano has become a controversial figure in Harrisburg. He’s openly fought against Governor Wolf’s COVID policies and has been outspoken in his belief that the 2020 election was fraudulent.
Mastriano would join an already large field of candidates seeking the GOP nomination.
