Republican Senator Pat Toomey is leading a charge among Pennsylvania lawmakers urging Governor Tom Wolf to reconsider the restrictions on sporting events.
Toomey was joined by local Congressmen Mike Kelly, GT Thompson, and other Republicans in an open letter to Wolf arguing that school officials can draft reasonable measures to allow fans in the stands.
The letter also encourages fans to be at stadiums to watch college and professional football—especially at outdoor venues.
The Steelers reportedly talked to the Department of Health yesterday about a process to allow fans in the stands.
