The Pennsylvania Senate has confirmed Dr. Carrie Rowe as the Commonwealth’s Secretary of Education.
By a vote of 44 to 3, Rowe was confirmed into the role after serving in an interim capacity since February.
Senator Scott Hutchinson was the only Butler County senator to vote against Rowe’s confirmation.
In August, as interim Secretary of Education, Rowe ordered Dr. Kristie Shulsky be reinstated as principal at Moraine Elementary. The school district would late challenge that decision in Commonwealth Court.
