PIHL Penguins Cup playoffs:
–Seneca Valley defeated Pine-Richland 3-1 in the Class 3A quarterfinals. The Raiders are the top-seeded team in Class 3A. They will meet Upper St. Clair in the semifinals next Monday (March 10th) at Robert Morris in the semifinals. Face-off is 7:15pm.
–Mars defeated Shaler 5-4 in the Class 1A quarterfinals. Grant Weaver scored the game-winner with :05 seconds remaining in regulation in a game that saw two lead changes and three ties.
–North Catholic was knocked out by Chartiers Valley 5-0, also in the Class 1A quarterfinals.
Mars and Char Valley will meet in tbe Class 1A semifinals at Robert Morris Wednesday, March 12th.
