An educator in the Seneca Valley School District is being recognized by a state organization for helping nurture leadership skills in students.
The Pennsylvania Association of Student Councils recently named Ryan Gloyer Middle School Acting Assistant Principal LaVarr Stephens-Howling as the Region A Middle School Advisor of the Year.
Stephens-Howling has been Student Council Advisor at the Ryan Gloyer Middle School for the last nine years. He was chosen from representatives in a 10 county area encompassing the northwest portion of the state.
Stevens-Howling is now eligible to be selected as the Advisor of the Year at the state level by the PASC which provides training and resources for students and advisors to engage with communities.
