After months of negotiations, Seven Fields Borough has a new police partner.
By a 3-1 vote last night, council approved the Northern Regional Police Department to take over law enforcement responsibilities in the Seven Fields borough. The contract is worth $650,000 but still needs to be ratified by the Northern Regional Commission Thursday.
Officials say that Northern Regional officers have already been visually active in the community as several attended the Seven Fields Light up Night earlier this month.
In a release from the Borough of Seven Fields, Council President Kimberly Regan-Koch said the Northern Regional Department brings more than 4 dozen officers, a detective bureau, Special Response Team for high-level incidents, and more.
The Northern Regional Department has provided service to Pine and Marshall townships and the Borough of Bradford Woods since its inception in 1969. Richland Township joined the combined force in 2006.
