Pennsylvania American Water has completed construction on a project to upgrade 40-year-old sewage lines near Alameda Park.
The replacement of 3,700 feet of wastewater lines with larger, and more reliable lines, to improve flow and reduce stormwater infiltration began in December. This $2 million project took place in the lower Alameda Park, resulting in the closure of the Alameda Trail.
Pennsylvania American Water representatives were joined by Butler County Commissioners, state and local officials and representatives, and community and project partners to mark the completion of the construction within Alameda Park and reopening of the trail.
PA American Water also donated $25,000 to Butler County towards the repaving of the nearly one-mile trail at some point next year.
