Governor Josh Shapiro is joining other states in suing the Trump Administration, arguing they are unlawfully suspending SNAP benefits.
The USDA confirmed that the benefits will not be paid out in November due to the federal government shutdown.
The lawsuit argues that there is a contingency fund, approved by Congress, that the USDA could use to make the payments.
The SNAP benefits will be suspended starting this Saturday if the federal government remains shutdown.
