Governor Josh Shapiro has filed a lawsuit against President Donald Trump over $2 billion in federal funds.
Two weeks after President Trump signed an executive order freezing federal funding Shapiro has filled a lawsuit calling the block unconstitutional.
Trumps federal funding blocks have already been blocked in several federal courts. But Shapiro is accusing Trump of not releasing the funding.
The lawsuit states that Pennsylvania is unable to access $1.2 billion in funding and an additional $900 million is “requiring an undefined review by federal agencies before it can be drawn down.”
This money is appropriated by congress and the United States Constitution states in cannot be suspend by any federal agency.
