Governor Josh Shapiro announced plans to nominate the current acting attorney general to take over the job on a full-time basis.
Michelle Henry was officially nominated to be the next attorney general in Pennsylvania. She held the position of top deputy while Shapiro served as AG from 2017 until he was elected governor.
Henry became noted for her role in prosecuting former Democratic state Attorney General Kathleen Kane.
All of Shapiro’s cabinet nominees must be confirmed by a two-thirds majority in the Pennsylvania State Senate.
