Governor Josh Shapiro is touting the largest investment into public schools as part of the bipartisan Pennsylvania budget.
The 2024-25 budget will see $1.11 billion go towards K-12 public schools most in need, but it will also see millions spent to improve education for all.
$100 million will be towards environmental repairs to facilities, including $25 million that will go towards building safe environments.
Special education funding, mental health funding for k-12 schools, and cyber charter reimbursements all also received $100 million.
The Commonwealth will also be spending $17,7 million for early childhood education and $3 million to provide menstrual hygiene products at no cost to students in schools.
Finally, $20 million will be spent to continue support for the Educator Pipeline Support Grant Program to provide stipends to eligible student teachers, doubling the number form last year.
