The Pittsburgh Pirates stopped a three game losing streak and gave Paul Skenes his first win since late May with a 3-0 win last night over the Detroit Tigers.
Skenes went six innings and allowed no runs, three hits and struck out six. Skenes also lowered his ERA to a major-league best 1.91. David Bednar recorded his 14th save of the season.
The Pirates recorded all three of their runs in the second inning, with two RBIs by Bryan Reynolds and an RBI single by Spencer Horwitz.
