The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture has announced a farm in Butler County will now be a forever farm.
The Meadow Grove Farm in Slippery Rock Township has received a total of $416,000 from the state to remain a farm forever. Butler County also put forward nearly $40,000 for a total of $456,000.
The 88-acre crop farm is now one of 499 that have been preserved since Governor Josh Shapiro first took office in January of 2023.
Over $50 million of state funds have been spent turning Pennsylvania farms into forever farms.
Neighboring Mercer County will also see the Bruce W. and Joyce A. Woods 79- Acre crop and live stock also turned into a forever farm.
