The public is invited to enjoy some live music on the campus of Slippery Rock University this upcoming week.
First, a Wind Ensemble performance is set for Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in Swope Music Hall. This group, including saxophone, has prepared five diverse pieces for the concert.
Then, on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. the SRU Jazz Ensemble will present a 50th Anniversary Concert in the Performing Arts Center’s Miller Theater with pieces that highlight significant memories in the history of the group as well as two former directors.
General admission tickets for either of these shows can be purchased online for $10 as well as $5 for SRU students.
Also on Saturday, the SRU Music Department is welcoming families with kids age 8 and younger for the first in a Free Family Music Series at the Swope Music Building at 10 a.m. This week, SRU students will lead a program with a theme of Sing, Move, Play, Halloween. Although free, spots can be reserved through the SRU website.
