A Slippery Rock man is facing several charges after assaulting a police officer while being arrested.
Police were called after 29-year-old Joshua Eck had allegedly been making obscene gestures, including pulling his pants down, to cars passing by.
The officer let Eck go after a warning, however police were later called to Slippery Rock Park where Eck was allegedly attempting to fight people in the park. Officers offered Eck a courtesy ride and when Eck and officers arrived at the location, Eck got into a verbal confrontation with a family member.
Eck who was in the back of the patrol vehicle then threated to attack a minor at the residence after being told he couldn’t go in. After attempting to exit the vehicle Eck was then put into custody.
But Eck did not have cuffs on due to the courtesy ride, so when officers attempted to put cuffs on Eck he allegedly punched an officer.
He’s facing several charges including aggravated assault-serious injury to police and resisting arrest.
