A Slippery Rock man is in the Venango County Jail after staying at a campsite that he did not own and stealing a car.
On November 6 the a 27-year-old man from Grove City traveled to his campsite in Rockland Township, only to find 37-year-old Michael Christie of Slippery Rock had been staying there and had damaged the property.
The week before Christie had stolen a vehicle and after new charges were filed for damaging the campsite lodge, he then got involved in a chase with police.
Once in custody he was placed in the Butler County Jail and then transferred to Venango County Jail pending a preliminary hearing.
