Air quality testing will be beginning soon at Slippery Rock High School after 34 students reported having problems with the air with ongoing construction happening in the building.
At Monday night’s school board meeting, parents expressed concerns that students at the high school reported feeling dizzy, nauseous, and light headed.
The issue was brought to the attention of school officials weeks ago but required approval from the board before finalizing testing.
According to Superintendent Alfonso Angelucci, that testing could begin today but more likely to start next week.
“The school community has been extremely supportive and patient through this process, because the end result is going to be a beautifully renovated high school with a lot of new classroom space,” Angelucci said.
Parents and community members will be updated on the information about testing as it begins in the coming days.
