After announcing his intentions to run for Congress against Mike Kelly, an Adams Township man is now setting his sights on a race against Darryl Metcalfe.
Daniel Smith Jr. said he has dropped out of the Democratic primary race for Congress and will now file to run for the Democratic nomination in the 12th Legislative District.
If Smith wins the primary, it will be the second time he faces Metcalfe in an election—he previously lost a race in 2018 by 16 points.
Smith Jr. was also briefly the Democratic nominee for Butler County Prothonotary before he dropped out of that race to run for Congress.
