A number of small businesses in the Butler County area have been chosen to receive financial assistance from the state.
Governor Tom Wolf recently announced that 45 businesses within the county have been awarded COVID-19 Relief Statewide Small Business Assistance funding.
A total of $96 million in state grants will be distributed to nearly 5,000 businesses by the Department of Community and Economic Development. Funding can be used to cover operating expenses during the shutdown and transition to re-opening as well as for technical assistance such as training and business guidance.
Additional money is still available through the Main Street Business Revitalization Program, the Historically Disadvantaged Business Revitalization Program, and the Loan Payment Deferment and Loss Reserve Program.
The second and final round of funding is now open and will remain open through Friday, August 28th. Applicants not awarded funding in the first round do not need to reapply.
