The South Butler School District will begin the search for a new superintendent in the near future.
At a special meeting Wednesday night, the school board accepted the resignation of former superintendent Dr. David Zupsic. Zupsic has accepted a position with the Midwestern Intermediate Unit 4 in Grove City as the Coordinator of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment. Zupsic has been with South Butler since August of 2014.
The board approved Dr. Frank Prazenica to serve as acting superintendent during their search for a permanent replacement this summer. Prazenica was superintendent at South Butler from 2007 until 2010.
The board also accepted the resignation of board member Jim Jones for personal reasons. Jones has served as a South Butler school director for 22 years and his term was set to expire this December. Becky Boyd will serve the remainder of Jones’ term as she received the most votes of South Butler school board candidates in May’s primary election.
