South Butler County School District is listening to concerns raised by parents in a recent survey about the remote learning process.
According to Superintendent Dr. David Foley, several common themes arose from an open-ended question about providing information that would be helpful for staff and administration with decision making.
One often mentioned issue was the idea of recorded lessons compared to live lessons. Foley explained that teachers had been encouraged to record lessons to reduce stress on families so that students did not have to be available at a specific time which could conflict with other family members needing to use technology.
Foley also addressed comments related to the Google Classroom. Support materials are available through links posted to the district’s website but those who would like to view the materials need to be signed into their Google accounts.
Finally, Foley thanked the community for their ongoing cooperation throughout this changing and challenging schooling process.
