South Butler County School District parents have been notified that a spouse of a teacher may have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for coronavirus.
Superintendent Dr. David Foley is sharing the information out of an abundance of caution and to keep communication open about the precautions the district has been taking.
Administration was informed Wednesday afternoon that the teacher’s spouse traveled 10 days ago to a conference in another city where the exposure may have occurred. Neither the teacher nor the spouse are experiencing any symptoms.
Foley spoke with the Butler County Health Department for guidance and as per the CDC, family members of exposed persons who are not symptomatic are directed to continue working and living their lives normally. The teacher will continue working and there is no known danger to the school population.
District officials will provide additional updates if this situation changes.
