A home was destroyed in a fire yesterday in the City of Butler.
The call came into the Butler County 911 Center around 10:20 a.m. for a fire in the 900 block of Center Avenue.
Crews arrived on scene and found heavy flames and smoke coming from the home.
Firefighters say the flame were coming from multiple floors of the home.
Crews battled the fire for over an hour before it was brought under control.
A portion of Center Avenue was closed for a time.
No one was home at the time of the fire.
The cause is under investigation.
