A special election has been announced to fill the state representative seat previously occupied by Republican Tedd Nesbit.
A special election will be held Tuesday, March 17th in the 8th Legislative District which includes parts of Butler and Mercer Counties.
Nesbit officially resigned on January 2nd after being elected to a seat on the Mercer County Court of Common Pleas in November. Nesbit’s term will expire at the end of 2020 meaning there will also be a primary election for this seat that will take place in April.
The District 8 office in Grove City will remain open to assist constituents through the election of a new representative. Candidates will be chosen by each political party. So far, the only candidate to announce a bid for nomination is Grove City resident Republican Veronica Cardello.
