A special election today will determine who holds power in the state House of Representatives.
The house has been deadlocked at 101 seats for both Republicans and Democrats since the death of Representative Matt Gergely in January.
The 35th District represents a portion of Allegheny County. Gergely was a Democrat who won the last election by 16 points.
If Democrats hold the seat in the election, Democrats will return to control of the State House, while Republicans maintain power in the Senate.
