Students from Butler County Community College will now have more options to easily transfer to Slippery Rock University.
The two institutions announced six new articulation agreements, which will offer 13 different pathways for students to get a bachelor degree from Slippery Rock.
The new agreements are in computer-science, biology, and engineering.
“Partnerships with community colleges are an important part of our fulfilling mission to serve students and provide access to affordable four-year degrees that prepare students for jobs that are in demand,” Slippery Rock President Dr. Karen Riley said.
BC3 President Dr. Nick Neupauer says that as higher education battles for students, ideas like articulation agreements are in both institutions best interest.
“Those same institutions that understand the value of partnership and collaboration will have a leg up on others that continue to work in silos,” Neupauer said.
There are now 46 different articulation agreements between SRU and BC3. SRU officials say that more than 200 BC3 students transfer to SRU on an annual basis.
