Study abroad trips planned for the upcoming spring break at Slippery Rock University have been cancelled as a result of the coronavirus.
According to a letter issued by SRU President Dr. William Behre Friday afternoon, all international programs scheduled to occur March 8th through 15th will no longer take place.
All participants have been notified and administrators from the SRU Office of Global Engagement are working to adjust class credits and explore refund options.
This decision was made to reduce the risk of possible infection and with the latest information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the U.S. State Department, and the World Health Organization.
Nearly 84,000 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in 52 countries with 2,300 deaths reported in 10 countries.
