The Slippery Rock University football team will likely see their six-year NCAA playoff streak come to an end after they lost to Edinboro 38-8 Saturday in their final PSAC-West game this season. The Rock has the second-longest playoff streak in the nation with six, second only to Ferris State. The Regional Rankings will come out today. SRU had been inside the necessary top-eight, but are likely to fall out of the top 10 after suffering their third loss of the season.
The Rock will visit Bloomsburg this Saturday to complete their regular season.
With the victory, Edinboro earned a share of the PSAC-West title, their first in 20 years. The Fighting Scots finished tied with IUP, but the Crimson Hawks earned a trip to the PSAC championship games this weekend against Kutztown via a tie breaker. IUP came back to defeat Clarion 45-42 Saturday to reach the title game.
