
Slippery Rock University will receive state funding to help pay for an expansion of certified teacher apprenticeships.
The PA Department of Labor and Industry is teaming up with the Department of Education to fund the Certified Teacher Registered Apprenticeship grant program.
SRU will receive nearly $600,000 to implement a post-baccalaureate apprenticeship program addressing shortages in science, math, and special education.
A total of nearly $8 million will be distributed across the state through this program which is entirely federally funded through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.
