The Slippery Rock University women’s track & field team completed a year-long sweep of Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference championships by winning the outdoor title Saturday on the final day of the PSAC Championships hosted by SRU at the William Lennox Track. The Rock capped a perfect year in the PSAC after winning the cross country title in the fall, the indoor track & field title in the winter and the outdoor track & field title in the spring. Slippery Rock led by just 12 points going into the final day of competition before exploding for 117 points Saturday to run away with the 18th title in program history with 171 points.
The Rock women swept all of the distance races, with Seneca Valley’s Ruthie Hughes winning the 10,000 meter run.
Butler graduate Jennifer Cichra won the 1,500-meter run.
Avonworth grad Anna Igams won three races and was named the Most Outstanding Track Athlete and over MVP.
