After confirming the election results were accurate, the Secretary of the Commonwealth has now certified the election.
State law requires Secretary Al Schmidt to certify the results after receiving official results from all 67 counties.
Two separate audits were completed before counties officially certified the results. Governor Josh Shapiro must now sign Pennsylvania’s certificate of ascertainment to officially record the results.
Turnout for the general election was 77% as over 7 million Pennsylvanians casted a ballot.
