A state house committee gave their approval to a bill that would see student teachers get paid.
The State House Education Committee passed the new legislation that would pay student teachers who are in a classroom at least $10,000.
In order to get the money, the students must agree to teach in Pennsylvania for at least three years.
Advocates of the bill say that some students are reluctant to go into education because of the time requirements of student teaching—which is normally unpaid.
The bill now goes to the full state house.
