Governor Josh Shapiro’s proposed budget passed the State House this week, setting up a battle in the Republican-led Senate.
A joint statement from GOP leaders say they “have profound concerns” about Governor Josh Shapiro’s proposed $53.3 billion budget.
They said they will “continue to fight for a more fiscally responsible spending plan.”
The Democratic-led House passed the unaltered budget on Tuesday, picking up a few Republican votes.
Last year, the budget was not passed until November—far past the June 30th deadline.
