The State House narrowly passed a bill that offers protections for businesses for COVID related lawsuits.
It’s a bill similar to one vetoed by Governor Tom Wolf last fall. Advocates for the bill say this differs from the previous one by mandating all COVID exposure lawsuits enter into arbitration.
Critics say it could protect businesses that willingly ignored COVID safety protocols.
The bill passed largely along party lines, with Republicans voting in favor, and Democrats dissenting.
