A state health official stopped by Butler County earlier this week to discuss funding to assist the children and youth services system.
Pennsylvania Department of Human Services Secretary Dr. Val Arkoosh visited the Butler County Children and Youth Agency to talk about recent budget increases to the county child welfare system.
One area of increased investment is an additional nearly $700,000 to ChildLine in order to increase staffing and provide more training to allow caseworkers time and resources to investigate.
In addition to investigations, the Butler County Children and Youth Agency provides services to families to assist them in recovering from abuse and neglect situations alongside community-based agencies.
