An agreement has been reached on a new contract between the ten state-owned universities—which includes Slippery Rock University—and over 5,000 faculty members.
The PA State System of Higher Education and the members of the Association of Pennsylvania State College and University Faculties reached an agreement in principle on a new four year deal.
Faculty members had been working under the terms of the previous contract since July of last year. Negotiations have been going on for over a year. Athletic coaches have a separate contract.
Details of the new contract have not yet been publicized and will not be until ratification by faculty and the PASSHE Board of Governors.
The deal is expected to be ratified within the next six weeks.
