The state police have released data from this past Fourth of July holiday period and it shows more crashes than last year.
Over the four-day holiday travel period, state police investigated 803 crashes. Of that number, 12 people died and over 150 were injured.
Police also say that alcohol played a role in 58 of those accidents, but no fatalities.
Troopers also made over 450 DUI arrests—which was down from last year’s nearly 550 arrests.
State police also issued about 22,000 citations—a majority due to speeding.
