State police are releasing data from the Memorial Day weekend.
During the four-day period, state police investigated 756 crashes that led to 140 injuries and five fatalities. Police say alcohol played a role in 57 of those crashes, including two fatalities.
Police also arrested 519 people for driving under the influence. That’s an increase from last year’s 456 arrests.
Police say they issued just over 27,000 citations overall for other traffic violations, with speeding being the most common infraction.
