With the latest encouraging news surrounding COVID-19 vaccines, the state is ramping up their plans for distribution.
State Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine says those plans are contingent on the volume of vaccine the state receives.
“A lot will depend on how much vaccine we get, which will determine how many people we can vaccinate,” Levine said. “And remember both of those products require two vaccinations.”
Levine also says people should be confident in taking the vaccine because of the safety protocols.
“I feel very comfortable with this process, I feel comfortable with the safety and effectiveness of the vaccines, and I’ll encourage everyone in the targeted groups as we roll it out to get the vaccine,” Levine said.
Levine says distributing enough vaccine statewide could take a while, which she says that means we could be wearing masks well into 2021.
