As Tax Day nears closer the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue is reminding parents and dependent care takers of tax credits available.
Parents can qualify up to $1,050 per child/dependent in tax credit if expenses excessed at least $3,000 in expenses per child/dependent depending on income.
Last year the Child and Dependent Care Enhancement Tax Credit saw $136.3 million in credits given to nearly 220,000 families.
To qualify for the credit, you must have incurred these care expenses.
- A dependent child under age 13.
- A spouse who was physically or mentally incapable of self-care and lived with you for more than half the year.
- An individual who was physically or mentally incapable of self-care, lived with you for more than half the year.
To file for this tax credit you can go to the Pennsylvania myPATH website for free filing.
