The Pennsylvania State Senate is returning to session sooner than anticipated.
A spokesman for the Republican caucus announced that the Senate will reconvene next Wednesday. The original date the Senate was to return to session was September 18th.
In the statement, Senate leaders said that there is still work that needs to be done in finalizing the state budget.
There is also a hope from some in the Senate that the House will return before their scheduled start of September 26th.
