Several candidates for judge in Pennsylvania courts made a stop in Butler Friday afternoon.
Republican Montgomery County judge Carolyn Carluccio is a candidate for an open seat on the state Supreme Court who visited the law firm of Dillon, McCandless, King, Coulter, and Graham.
She was joined by Westmoreland County judge Harry Smail and Clarion County lawyer Maria Battista who are Republicans running for Superior Court along with Republican Megan Martin, a lawyer from Cumberland County who is running for a seat on the Commonwealth Court.
State Treasurer Stacy Garrity faces a reelection campaign next year but joined the judge candidates at the office to speak to their qualifications.
“We are so fortunate that we have a slate of candidates that will rule on the law as it is written. I have a novel idea, let’s elect judges that have read the Constitution and understand what it means. There is no slate of candidates that I have ever worked with that I am more confident that can turn the Commonwealth around,” Garrity explained.
Also in attendance at the gathering were state Senator Scott Hutchinson, state Representative Marci Mustello, Butler County Commissioners Leslie Osche and Kim Geyer, Court of Common Pleas Judge Maura Palumbi, Butler County Sheriff Mike Slupe, and Butler County District Attorney Rich Goldinger who is seeking election to another four year term on Tuesday.
