Pittsburgh Steelers General Manager Kevin Colbert said on Thursday, if he has his way, he’ll never collect a paycheck from another NFL organization.
The Steelers general manager, who signed a one-year contract extension, last week, wants to retire with the team even though he has no timetable to do so.
“As long as the Rooneys and the Pittsburgh Steelers want me to be a part of this organization, and it’s a good thing for our family, we’ll be here,” Colbert said Thursday.
Kevin Colbert has spent the past 20 seasons employed by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Kevin Colbert became the latest team official to squash talk of the team adding a veteran to dress behind starter Ben Roethlisberger.
Colbert said Thursday the Steelers are “hopeful” Roethlisberger will make a “complete recovery” from right elbow surgery, and they are “comfortable” with the other four quarterbacks on the offseason roster.
Roethlisberger is scheduled to have his elbow examined in Los Angeles on Feb. 21
GARRETT AGAIN ALLEGES RUDOLPH CALLED HIM N-WORD:
The Cleveland Browns’ Myles Garrett, who was just reinstated by the NFL after a six-game suspension, again said yesterday (February 13th) that the on-field attack against Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph that he was punished for came after Rudolph called him the “n-word.”
In an interview with Outside the Lines that aired last night, Garret said, “He called me the N-word. He called me a ‘stupid N-word.’” Garrett ripped off Rudolph’s helmet and hit him in the head with it during the Browns’ game against the Steelers on November 14th.
Garrett first said during the appeals hearing for his suspension that Rudolph had called him the racial slur, but the NFL has said it hasn’t found any evidence for the claim. Rudolph has called the allegation “totally untrue.”
