The Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the New York Giants 26-16 last night in the season opener. Ben Roethlisberger threw for 229 yards and three touchdowns in his return from a season-ending injury last year. Roethlisberger hit wide receiver Juju Smith-Schuster for two of the scores.
Benny Snell rushed for 113 yards on 19 carries. He replaced James Conner early in the game after Conner suffered an ankle injury.
Two Steelers offensive lineman went down in the game with potential serious injuries. Stefen Wisniewski left with a pectoral injury in his first game as a Steeler, and Zach Banner left with a knee injury in his first start.
The Steelers host the Denver Broncos Sunday at 1pm.
In the second game of Monday Night Football last night – Tennessee defeated Denver 16-14 with a Stephen Gostkowski 25-yard field goal with 17 seconds remaining in the game. Gostkowski had missed four other field goals in the game.
