Pittsburgh Steelers president Art Rooney II addressed the media Wednesday and discussed the moment that Mike Tomlin met with him to discuss his departure Monday. Rooney stated it was Tomlin’s decision to step down after 19 seasons, and said he wasn’t shocked but understood his decision.
Rooney said general manager Omar Khan will lead the coaching search. He prefers they have the job search complete prior to some of the prospect showcases like the NFL Combine.
