Eight members of the Tennessee Titans organization — three players and five personnel — have tested positive for the coronavirus in the first outbreak to hit the NFL, coming after its third week of games. The team suspended all in-person activities through Friday.
Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, who Tennessee is scheduled to host on Sunday, said at his weekly press conference Tuesday – that they’ve been told to prepare as if they game will be played on time. The game has a Sunday 1pm kick-off.
The Minnesota Vikings also suspended in-person activities yesterday because they played the Titans last weekend. Those who tested positive will be isolated, monitored and offered medical care.
The Steelers could likely be without three key players this weekend when they face the Titans. Receiver Diontae Johnson is in concussion protocol. Fullback Derek Watt is out with a hamstring injury and safety Marcus Allen has plantar fasciitis. All three are part of the Steelers special teams.
